Phase II, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel arm drug trial to evaluate the safety, tolerability and effectiveness of resveratrol when given to people with mild to moderate AD. All participants will undergo CSF collection (lumbar puncture) and volumetric MRI.
Requirements:
Age 50 or older
Mild to moderate AD
MMSE 14-26 (inclusive)
Have a study partner
Able to abstain from ingesting large quantities of resveratrol containing foods (red wine, red grapes, or red grape juice)
Able to abstain from ingesting herbal/natural dietary supplements containing resveratrol.
